Safety Razor is invented by King Gillette.

The first safety razor in the U.S., it is perfected by Gillette in an apartment at 64 Westland Avenue. Gillette forms a company to manufacture the product in 1901,* obtains a patent for it on November 15, 1904, and builds a factory to manufacture the product in South Boston in 1906.*
